FASFA welcomes two new Board of Directors
FASFA welcomes two new Directors and bids farewell to Sturri Haraldsson
FASFA is pleased to welcome two new Directors, Katrine Florvaag from Ramoen and Orri Gustafsson from Seagold, whose appointments ensure that FASFA’s Board continues to represent each of our main member nations.
Orri Gustafsson is Managing Director of Seagold, based in Hull, UK, while Katrine Florvaag is Sales Manager at Ramoen, based in Ålesund, Norway. Both bring extensive experience and strong connections within the international seafood industry, and we are delighted to welcome them to the FASFA Board.
FASFA Executive Director [Julie Waites] said:
“A very warm welcome to Katrine and Orri. I have known both of them for a number of years, and they have each been strong supporters of FASFA and the work we do on behalf of our members. Their experience, knowledge and industry connections will be a valuable addition to the Board.
“Their appointments also ensure that FASFA’s Directors continue to reflect the interests and perspectives of each of our main member nations. I look forward to working with them as Directors and to building on the strong relationships we have developed over the years.”
FASFA also wishes to recognise and thank Sturri Haraldsson, who has retired from the seafood industry, including his role as a FASFA Director.
Many within FASFA and across the wider seafood industry have had the pleasure of working with Sturri over the years. His knowledge, experience and commitment have made a valuable contribution to the industry and to FASFA’s work.
Sturri has now taken on an exciting new challenge, having been appointed Mayor of Akraneskaupstaður in Iceland. While we are sorry to see him step away from the seafood industry and from FASFA, we are delighted to see him take on this important new role in his home community.
“We would like to thank Sturri for his many years of service and for the contribution he has made to FASFA and the wider seafood sector. He has been a valued colleague and friend to many of us, and he will be greatly missed.
“We wish Sturri every success in his new role as Mayor of Akraneskaupstaður. It is a fitting new chapter for someone with his experience, commitment and enthusiasm, and we look forward to keeping in touch.”
FASFA looks forward to continuing its work with members globally, supported by the experience and expertise of its Directors and wider membership.
