Let’s raise a fork to National Fish and Chip Day 2021!
With all the recent doom and gloom in the headlines, this year’s National Fish and Chip Day couldn’t have come at a better time. As an organisation, FASFA is very proud to support this industry-wide day of celebration and we thank NEODA for the delivery of an excellent campaign, once again.
It seems that every year, National Fish and Chip Day grows in its scale, profile and the levels of engagement we see from shops, supply chain partners, the media and general public alike. To mark the occasion this year, we have created a suite of new social media graphics to share some key stats and facts about the importance of frozen at sea fillets with our followers, including some quotes from our members and supply chain partners.
This National Fish and Chip Day, I would like to particularly highlight the important role that FAS vessels have played in keeping us supplied with delicious fish and chips.
Covid-19 continues to present enormous challenges but I am so proud that our member vessels have ensured that, throughout the pandemic, delicious, top quality FAS fillets were always in plentiful supply.
It seems appropriate today to reflect on some of the many reasons we have to celebrate this incredibly important industry, which supports so many diverse careers. When it comes to frozen at sea fillets, our trade deals, relationships and supply chains are strong and secure, despite what may sometimes appear in the headlines! In addition, I think we can all agree that our fish and chip shops have done us proud since the pandemic began, reacting quickly and pulling together in the face of adversity with the passion and dedication we see time and again, which I respect so much.
As we look ahead to the summer (let’s hope this sunshine stays around for a while...!), we have exciting plans at FASFA. We will be creating more content and resources to showcase the work of our members, the shops they supply and the state-of-the-art technology they use to provide UK shops with the highest quality FAS fillets all year round. As well as this focused activity, we will be continuing to work closely with our partners throughout the supply chain on key initiatives and ongoing projects to support and champion our industry, now and in the future.
